The Red Sox appear ready to move on from Gold Glove-caliber outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. if it will help them address their lineup's lack of power.

According to a tweet from USA Today's Bob Nightengale, the Red Sox have made Bradley available in trade. One rumored destination? Chicago. The Cubs have power to dangle in outfielder Kyle Schwarber, who mashed 30 homers last year, but hit just .211 and needed to be sent back to the minors in June.

If the Red Sox trade Bradley, Andrew Benintendi would presumably move over to center field, with Gold Glover Mookie Betts remaining in right, where his arm makes him a weapon in Fenway Park.

Bradley has struggled with consistency since arriving in Boston in 2013. He hit 26 homers and made his first All-Star team in 2016, but took a step back last year with 17 homers and a .245 average. His outstanding defense in center compensated for much of his lost offensive value, but not enough to keep the Red Sox from dangling him in the hopes of bolstering an offense that finished last in the American League in home runs last year.

Bradley could be appealing to smaller-market teams as well, because he has three years of arbitration eligibility remaining before he hits free agency.
