The Patriots' offense this season has a chance to be the most explosive in franchise history. But for now, that honor still belongs to the 2007 Patriots, who beat their opponents by an average of nearly 20 points per game.

Tom Brady experienced the greatest statistical year of hs career, throwing for 4,806 yards and 50 touchdowns. Randy Moss hauled in 23 of those touchdown passes, reasserting himself as the NFL's top big-play threat.

Brady's 25th touchdown pass of the season was a 50-yard toss to Moss, who was racing towards the middle of the end zone.

It's an impressive play to watch, especially since it was made up on the spot. Former Patriots wideout Donte Stallworth explained the backstory on Twitter Sunday.

Randy lined up wrong and we ran an improvised play here literally on the fly," he wrote. "I got to play with those two dudes, Brady and Moss. What a blessing to learn from two of the greatest to ever do it."

It's easy to dismiss the dominance of the 2007 Patriots, given their devastating Super Bowl loss. But there were plenty of highlights worth enjoying along the way.
