Bill Belichick doesn’t seem impressed with Tom Brady’s ability to overcome the thumb injury that sent New England into a five-day panic.

"Tom did a great job. He’s a tough guy. We all know that. Alright?,” Belichick told reporters. “But we’re not talking about open-heart surgery here.”

Brady reportedly gashed his hand when handing the ball off to running back Rex Burkhead at practice Wednesday. According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the Patriots quarterback received more than 10 stitches.

When asked about whether Brady’s injury affected the Patriots’ game plan, Belichick delivered a verbal eye roll.

“Not that I’m aware of,” the coach said.

Brady went 26-of-38 for 290 yards and two touchdown passes to Danny Amendola, both of which came in the fourth quarter. Thanks to Brady’s fourth quarter heroics, the Patriots will advance to their eighth Super Bowl of the Brady-Belichick era.

Though Belichick appeared enthused at the podium, he was downright jubilient on the field, proving he is a real human being after all.
